Meet Jeanne

Jeanne Bosio, Cake Artist

Jeanne Bosio is the creative force behind Good Karma Cake Design. On any given day you can find her replying to emails, meeting with clients, conducting tasting consultations, sketching cake designs, mixing cake batter and icing, coordinating with planners, florists and caterers, stacking cake tiers and posting on social media – all while raising two boys- one of whom has autism, and single-handedly running her household while her husband travels for work.
Jeanne is a self-taught baker who simultaneously possessed a wicked sweet tooth and a creative streak while growing up in the midwest. She finally graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1996 with a degree in fine art and, (not finding many positions for a ceramic sculptor open in Omaha at the time) continued to work in the service industry as a bartender and server.

Eventually life brought her to South Florida where she married her husband and started a family. As it turned out, both of her sons had a dairy and soy intolerance and they could not enjoy the cake at their friends’ birthday parties. That’s when Jeanne decided to start baking dairy and soy free cupcakes for them. She soon found other parents of children with food allergies and an idea was born. It wasn’t long before she realized her background in art expanded her skills in cake design and Good Karma Baking Company – the first incarnation of this business – opened to offer allergy friendly as well as conventional custom cakes primarily for children’s birthday celebrations. Now, after 6 years of making cakes for birthdays and special occasions, Jeanne has honed her skills and is taking her eye for design to the next level. She decided to refresh the brand and rename her company Good Karma Cake Design to highlight her focus on creating artistically designed custom cakes for weddings and events. She developed a passion for the integrity of craftsmanship in art school and places a priority on not only the flavor and texture of her mouthwatering cakes, but also on the sharp edges of each tier and the clean execution of every design. Jeanne thinks of herself as an artist and each cake as a unique work of art.
